I’ve been writing music for big band!
Influenced by the music of Basie, Mingus, Thad Jones, Olivier Messaien, Ellington, Herbie Hancock, John Coltrane, Maurice Ravel, Ashby Anderson, Jim McNeely, Alexandr Tcherepnin, and Edgar Grana…this is Big Band Music for the Twenty First Century.
We’re up on Kickstarter!
We’re doing a concert January 8th at the Baha’i Center in New York City!
The band is amazing. We have Jerry Dodgion, Marc Phaneuf, Tim Armacost, Andy Farber and Roger Rosenberg – and that’s just the saxophone section. We have Greg Ruvolo, Tim Ouimette, and Brandon Lee in the trumpets. We have John Allred and Joe Randazzo (so far) in the bones, and Vic Juris, Steve Johns, Mike Eckroth, and Evan Gregor in the rhythm section.
I want to pay the band, and generate as much work as possible from this event… I want to be a job creator! From the 99%, no less! – but I need your help!
We’ve set a low target of $2000 that will allow us to pay a token performance honorarium of $100 to the members and the rehearsal studio fee.. If we exceed the target, we can do more.
If we raise $2500 we can make a recording and video of the concert to try to get gigs for the band. If we raise $9000 we can pay the band enough to obtain permissions to release the recording. If we raise $10,000 I can afford to pay myself something for producing this, the writing, music prep etc.
If we raise $15,000 we can make CD’s or DVD’s. If we raise $20.000, we can do a national promotion campaign of the music on radio and in print.
If we raise $50,000 we can afford to do a studio recording of this music, with 2 days of rehearsal and 2 days of recording!
I’ve included a playlist of Finale sound files to give an idea what the music will sound like… but, there’s nothing like a real band. Help keep live music live – and hire these wonderful musicians! Be a part of our quest! Join our team! Lets make great music together!
